Degree projects in Social Pharmacy

Social pharmacy is a scientific field that addresses the role of drugs for individuals, populations, organizations and society. Sociopharmaceutical research and education should contribute to rational drug use, from the perspective of both users and society. Social pharmacy is a multidisciplinary field and research utilizes tools, among other things, from epidemiology, health economics, psychology, philosophy, sociology and statistics. The research identifies the perspective of different actors: individual, population, organization and society. The approaches are both quantitative and qualitative.

The Research comprises the following areas:

• Prescription and use of medicines
• Effects of drugs in use
• Strategies to improve drug use in society: drug policies and regulations and pharmaceutical interventions in pharmacies and in healthcare
• The pharmaceutical professions, professional occupation and collaboration with other healthcare practitioners
• The pharmaceutical professions, professional occupation and collaboration with other healthcare practitioners
