Organisation
Uppsala Drug Optimization and Pharmaceutical Profiling (UDOPP) is a local platform, which started at the Drug Delivery group (head prof. Per Artursson), Department of Pharmacy, Uppsala University in 2009.
The UDOPP platform has two main branches consisting of facilities that are founded as collaborations within other platforms. One branch is the ADME of Therapeutics (ADMEoT), a facility within SciLifeLab’s National Drug Discovery and Development Platform (DDD-P) established in 2014, and the second branch is the In Vitro ADME facility at the Innovative Medicine Imitative (IMI), European Gram-negative Antibacterial Engine (ENABLE) consortium, established in 2014. UDOPP is also part of the Innovative Medicine Imitative (IMI), ConcePTION consortium.
UDOPP strives to meet its major objective to provide expertise and knowhow to the project teams with regard to identifying critical points for drug discovery, study planning, perform wet lab studies and support to principal investigator (PI) in ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion) /pharmacokinetics (PK) questions in the project and in discussions with potential investors and regulatory bodies.
The UDOPP staff is actively involved in education and providing important scientific developments and knowledge within the Swedish academic community.
Key EVENTs:
2019 - UDOPP joined the Innovative Medicine Imitative (IMI), ConcePTION consortium, with responsibility for bioanalysis of human plasma and breast milk samples.
2014 – UDOPP became part of the Innovative Medicine Imitative (IMI), European Gram-negative Antibacterial Engine (ENABLE) consortium as the In Vitro ADME facility.
2014 – UDOPP became as the ADME of Therapeutics (ADMEoT) facility part of the Science for Life National Drug Discovery and Development Platform (DDDp).
2012 – UDOPP started strategic collaboration with prof. Thomas Helleday group at Karolinska Insitutet, which resulted in two major applications and many high impact publications.
2010 – UDOPP joined the Chemical Biology Consortium Sweden (CBCS). The collaboration continued until 2016 when CBCS was disbanded and resulted in many high quality scientific publications.
2009 - Uppsala Drug Optimization and Pharmaceutical Profiling (UDOPP) platform established at the Drug Delivery group, Department of Pharmacy, Uppsala University.
