The Faculty of Pharmacy congratulates Elin Svensson, Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Pharmacometrics with a focus on tuberculosis, on the 2023 Oscar prize. Uppsala University emphasizes in its Award motivation that Elin Svensson:

Oscar II (1829-1907)
Oscar II (1829-1907)

"has established herself as a driving global force in tuberculosis research. Her work on how clinical data can be processed using mathematical models to optimize drug treatments has in several cases led to recommendations for new dosing strategies for improved therapies, which have been adopted by pharmaceutical authorities. She has also had a special focus on developing adequate dosages for children, a patient group that often only receives evidence-based dosage several years after dosage recommendations have been established for adults."

The Oscar prize is awarded to a promising young scientist at Uppsala University, whose scientific writing is the most deserving and offers the greatest promise of continued academic writings at the University. The prize will be presented in the Uppsala University Main Auditorium 9 October 2023.
